Podcast studio questions
How much does it cost to rent the podcast studio?
A podcast session is $125 CAD per hour, booked for 1 to 6 hours. That includes a technician to run the session, 3 cameras, 4 microphones, a live-switched cut, audio and video ISO recording, a teleprompter, studio lighting and the 100-inch background screen. Shorter single-camera sessions start at $75 per 30 minutes.
What’s included in a podcast session?
A technician who runs the session, three cameras, four microphones, a live-switched cut, separate (ISO) recordings of every camera and microphone, a teleprompter, the studio lighting package, and your choice of backgrounds on the 100-inch screen or black or white drapes.
Do I need to bring equipment or a crew?
No. The cameras, microphones, lighting, teleprompter and screen are all in the room, and a Links Live technician sets up and runs the session: cameras, audio, switching and recording. You and your guests just focus on the content.
How many people can the studio record at once?
The studio seats 4 people comfortably, each with their own microphone. If you need more, we can accommodate larger groups: the studio is wired for up to 8 microphones and 5 cameras.
What do I get at the end of the session?
A live-switched cut of the episode, ready to review or publish, plus the ISO recordings of every camera and microphone, so your editor has every angle and every voice on its own track. Editing, colour and audio mixing are also available in-house if you’d rather hand off the post-production.
Can you edit the episodes for us?
Yes. Our in-house post-production team can take your episode from raw recordings to finished show: a multicam edit using every camera angle, audio clean-up and mixing, colour, titles and lower thirds, intros and outros, and vertical clips for Instagram, TikTok and Shorts. We deliver files ready for YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts and social. Ask for editing when you book, or send us footage from a session you’ve already recorded.
Where is the studio, and how do I get there?
Links Live Studio is at 218 Queens Quay W in Toronto’s Harbourfront, less than a 15-minute walk from Union Station. Enter through the marked entrance and call on arrival to be let in.
Can I record video podcasts and social clips here, or only audio?
Both. The studio is built for video first: every session is recorded on multiple cameras, so you can publish full episodes to YouTube and cut vertical clips for Instagram, TikTok and Shorts from the same recording.
